Open: Select one or more files in a
dialog and open them in Tiny Hexer
Reopen*: This submenu contains a list of
previously used files; by clicking an entry the file is opened in a new
editor window
Reopen/Cleanup*: Remove non-existing files
from the "Reopen" menu
Insert
file: Insert a file from disk at the current position in the active
editor window. If a block of data is currently selected, this block will
be replaced by the file's data
Reload: Discard all changes and
reload the current file from disk again
Open
group*: Open a group of files previously stored
using the following command
Save
group*: After selecting a group of open files in a
dialog, this group is stored in a file. Using the previous command all
files in this group can be opened again later
Insert partial
file: Insert a part of a file on disk at the current position in the
active editor window. If a block of data is currently selected, this
block will be replaced by the partial file's data. You can specify the
position and size of data to be inserted in the "Insert partial file" dialog.
Paste over file:
Paste the contents or selection of the active editor window over the data
of an existing file on disk at a specific position. After selecting the
target file, you can choose the position in the "Paste over file" dialog.
Disk:
This submenu contains commands to work
with raw data on disk partitions, CDROM and floppy disks (Windows NT/2000/XP only)
Process: This submenu contains commands to read and write memory
in other processes:
Read process memory: Displays the "Read process memory" dialog, where you can
select a memory block in another process to be opened in Tiny
Hexer
Write process memory: After modifying a
process memory block in the editor, you can write back the data to
the other process. The "Write process
memory" dialog is displayed to choose some options. This is a dangerous command as you might crash the process. If
you write nonsense data to a system process, the whole system might
crash!
Save:
Save a modified file back to disk. Automatic backups can be configured in
the "Global settings" dialog (auto
backups are enabled by default)

as: Save the active file under a different name

selection: Save the selected data block to a file on disk
Import*: This
submenu contains commands to choose data from a file or the clipboard in
various formats (e.g. Intel Hex or Motorola S-Record) in the "Import" dialog to be opened in a new or the current
editor window
Export*: Save
the current file in a specific format (e.g. hex text) after selecting the
export type in the "Export" dialog
Print
setup: Show Windows' printer setup dialog to choose a printer and its
settings
Print:
Open the "Print preview" dialog that
allows you to print the current file
Statistics*: Display some statistical
data for the current file or selection in the "File statistics" dialog
Properties*: Show the "File properties" dialog which allows you to
view and modify file sizes, timestamps and file attributes
Close:
Close the active editor window
Close
all: Close all open editor windows
Exit:
